Singapore Glamberts News!
The Business Times Budding Artists Fund & The Little Artists Academy
Sep 6th
.
The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) is the Singapore Glamberts adopted charity! And we have just launched our first charity drive – the Singapore Glamberts Glamnation Charity Drive. But who are they? And what do they do? And what is The Little Artists Academy (LAA)?
First off…
Why are we doing this? Why do we want to adopt a charity and organise activities to raise funds for the organisation?
As I explained in my previous blog post: “Giving Back to Society in Adam Lambert’s Name“, I proposed that we look beyond our devotion and idolisation of Adam for a moment and instead consider what we can do for charity and society as inspired by Adam. Instead of spending money making or buying gifts for Adam, why not we channel our money and energies to drive funds for a worthy charity organisation in Adam’s name instead? As we all know, Adam himself had mentioned this countless times and had tweeted about it too.
Therefore, with Adam as our inspiration, we should at least try to give back to society and do some real good!
The Business Times Budding Artists Fund
We adopted the BT BAF as our adopted charity as its focus on children and the development of the arts aligns perfectly with Adam’s own interest in providing charitable support in these areas (eg DonorsChoose.org).
Mission of BT BAF:
- To ensure that no child with strong interest and artistic potential should be denied of the opportunity to develop his or her talent because of economic disadvantage
-
The arts can play an instrumental role in changing lives for the better through helping an individual develop specific skills and nurturing values that will help transcend his or her immediate circumstances
To date, the BT BAF has touched the lives of over 5,000 children and has funded arts education programmes, arts camps and arts appreciation opportunities. The Fund creates opportunities for children to showcase their talents and to develop their confidence in public performance. It aims to enable economically disadvantaged children between the ages of five to 12 years to pursue their aspirations to develop artistic talents in music, dance, theatre, visual arts and theatre production. The Little Arts Academy (LAA) was developed to ensure a sustainable long term programme of training in the Arts for children from economically challenged homes.
The Little Arts Academy
BT BAF set up The Little Arts Academy (LAA) in November 2008 out of a need to provide more systematic arts training and a dedicated creative learning space for the BT BAF scholarship beneficiaries. With its varied facilities that include a dance studio, practice rooms, a recording studio as well as a kitchen for culinary classes, the LAA offers a broad-based curriculum that aims to give children a holistic education which has its foundation in the arts. Offering professional training in dance, drama, new media, visual arts, music and singing, the LAA provides opportunities for all children who have strong interest and artistic potential to receive interdisciplinary training in the arts.

Singapore Glamberts Meet Up At F1
Sep 6th
We all know by now that Adam will be in Singapore for the Formula One Grand Prix and will be performing on the 25th & 26th September 2010.
If you have ZONE 1 tickets – good for you! Those are expensive and have fun on the 26th Sept! For the rest of us, we will be planning for the 25th Sept Zone 4 Performance on the Padang.
ADAM’s PERFORMANCE – ZONE 4
Date: Sat 25th Sept
Time: 11.20pm
Venue: Padang Stage in Zone 4
WHAT TIME SHOULD YOU BE THERE?
Please note – we are going to be there with fans of Formula One & Daughtry. Daughtry is coming up at 6pm. If you are going to go there on your own, be there by 5pm to ‘chop’ your place in front of the stage. But don’t worry if you cannot get a spot in front – after Daughtry, there will be people moving off to watch the F1 – that’s your chance to grab a spot!
FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO MEET UP & GO TOGETHER INTO THE F1 PREMISES…
ALL F1 Gates will be OPENED by 3pm! I suggest that we meet up outside of the F1 before moving into the F1 grounds!
MEET: Raffles City Shopping Centre – right outside of STARBUCKS
TIME: EXACTLY 3PM!
We will wait for no more than 30min and will then move off! Latecomers are to go to the F1 grounds on their own and try to rejoin the group.
RSVP: Please RSVP at our FORUM Thread >> HERE
So that we have an idea of how many people are turning up! Thanks!
GATE: GATE 3 (G3)
(see map below or click here for a better look > http://wwww.singaporegp.sg/ticket/pdf/2010_circuit_park_map.pdf)
.
.
CHOP SPOTS: We will be ‘choping’ spots in front of the Padang Stage from 4pm onwards!
Note: This is 7 hours before Adam comes up! So bring mats, towels and umbrellas! Bring your battery-operated fans etc. Let’s be orderly and neat. We need to look out for one another and help each other if someone next to you require to go to the loo, buy a drink, get dinner etc.
HOW TO FIND EACH OTHER?
I would like to suggest that ALL GLAMBERTS in F1 to go there wearing at least ONE BLUE GLOW NECKLACE/BRACELET (see below – we will be selling Glow Sticks and necklaces to ALL) to identify each other. It is going to be a HOT HOT DAY & NIGHT and so be prepared that make up will run, clothes will be soaked with perspiration (someone has suggested to me to bring extra clothes to change into).
BLUE GLOW NECKLACES/BRACELETS/STICKS
I think we should wear the BLUE GLOW NECKLACES or BRACELETS to identify ourselves as Glamberts. Furthermore, let’s break out the Blue Glow Sticks during Adam’s performance so that he would know how many people in the crowd is there specifically FOR HIM!
The Singapore Glamberts are selling these BLUE GLOW NECKLACES and BRACELETS!
Each GLOW PACKAGE consists of:
- 10 Blue Glow Bracelets
- 5 Blue Glow Sticks
For $5 each (with $1 going to our adopted Charity – BT BAF).
Please order your BLUE GLOWSTICKS & BRACELETS here >> ORDER GLOW PACKAGES HERE
.
See you there!
We Got Ourselves Mentioned In The Straits Times!
Sep 3rd
And I am NOT talking about the royal “we”!
The Singapore Glamberts have been mentioned in a Straits Times article in the 3 September 2010 edition of the newspaper! The journalist, Eddino Abdul Hadi, called me yesterday for a quote and was very kind to hear me out as I talked about Singapore Glamberts and also about our Glamnation Charity Drive.

No Glamnation Merchandise Will Be On Sale During F1!
Aug 31st
This is really sad… Lushington Entertainments – the guys that are bringing Adam Lambert to Singapore – has confirmed with me that there will NOT be any Glamnation Tour Merchandise on sale during Adam’s performance in the F1 Singapore Grand Prix! Replying to my query on their Facebook page, Lushington Entertainment’s Alastair Hunt confirmed that only official F1 race merchandise will be available during F1 (see below).
This is turning out to be a sad affair for Singapore – we do NOT have Glamnation concert, we do NOT have GNT’s merchandise to buy, and we do NOT have VIP Meet & Greet to buy (this was offered for the Hong Kong and Philippines concerts).
Adam really should hold ONE MORE true Glamnation Concert in Singapore after F1!

So… have you donated already? Please post a comment below if you have!
Adam Lambert Glamnation Charity Drive is now LAUNCHED!
Aug 23rd
.
OUR FIRST EVER CHARITY DRIVE
To celebrate Adam’s FIRST international tour, the Singapore Glamberts are embarking on our first ever charity drive – the ADAM LAMBERT GLAMNATION CHARITY DRIVE!
Inspired by Adam, who has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of charities benefitting children, we have adopted the Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) as our chosen charity to raise funds for. BT BAF’s mission is to promote the Arts amongst children in Singapore and to ensure that no child with interest or ability in the Arts is denied access because of economic disadvantage.
Through this charity event, we hope to raise a minimum of S$5,000. Donors stand to win wonderful Adam Lambert memorabilia, including autographed posters and CDs, and Adam Lambert-related jewellery!
To find our MORE about our Charity Drive, go to our Glamnation Charity page for details.
Adam Lambert BACK IN SINGAPORE For F1 Glamnation Concert! (Consolidated Post)
Aug 19th
.
Updated 21 August 2010:
More of Adam Lambert! This F1 advertisement is in City Hall MRT! Spot anymore advertisements featuring Adam? Take a picture of it and send it to me! (You can tweet it to me at @SG_Glamberts or email it to ooi@singaporeglamberts.com.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a consolidated and updated post on Adam Lambert’s performances in Singapore during the 2010 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Adam will be performing in the 2010 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix from the 25-26 September 2010. See the HUGE F1 concert poster in City Hall MRT station above! Wow!
He will be performing in the mega Padang Stage in Zone 4 of the F1 Circuit on the 25th September at 11.20pm (refer to the Entertainment Map below). 1-Day Zone 4 Walkabout tickets are going for S$108 per pax. While the cheapest ticket still available for Zone 1 is S$1,288 (it is so expensive because of F1 and not because of the concert). Grab your tickets as soon as possible before it is sold out! (NOTE: This is a “WALKABOUT” ticket… so there are NO SEATS. So no worries, just choose “Section: GA” which stands for “General Admission” when you order your tickets online.)
Buy your tickets >> HERE
.
Adam will be performing his FULL SET when he performs in the Formula 1! (As stated on the F1 website) That means ONE HOUR of Adam singing on stage! YAH! Adam will be coming on after Daughtry! So be prepared to party into the wee hours of the night! You need to go to the venue early and “chomp” a place in front of the stage to watch his performance! (Seats in the Grandstand etc. are seats to watch the F1 – they face OUTSIDE of the Padang, towards the roads where the race cars will be zooming by. So DON’T BUY any seated tickets! You would not be able to see the stage at all!)
Disappointed But… Let’s Take Over The Padang!
I know everyone is a bit disappointed… we want The Glamnation Tour… NOT F1! But no matter… Adam will be here and he will be exposed to a wider audience and that could only mean good things for him! Let’s celebrate and party with him at the Padang and make our presence known there! If enough glamberts come out in force, we can take over the front of the stage!
Let us be there early in all our GLAM and GLITTER and we will wait for Adam to perform and enjoy his set tremendously!
Schemes & Plans
Those who have gotten their tickets, now let us discuss about WHEN to station ourselves in front of the Padang Stage and HOW to find fellow Glamberts in the crowd!
We will be carrying on these discussions in our FORUM. Hope to see you there and contribute your thoughts on what we should wear etc.
IF I HAD YOU Remixed EP Available 17 Aug
Aug 15th
Update 19 August 2010:
Adam Lambert’s new EP, IF I HAD YOU REMIXED is now available in AdamOfficial.com but only for USA fans! We in Singapore are denied the chance to buy the legitimate copy of the songs.
Next Tuesday, 24 August 2010, these new remixes will be available in the USA iTunes store – so technically, we fans in Singapore are unable to buy them. But if you resourceful there is always a way around this.
So good luck in trying to buy legit copies of Adam’s music.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did you see Adam Lambert’s tweet about how he is releasing his new EP, IF I HAD YOU REMIXED, exclusively on AdamOfficial.com’s Music Store on 17th August 2010? He tweeted that this EP “includes remixes by Jason Nevins, Morgan Page, and Dangerous Muse”. And “also will feature the radio remix of the track (hits way harder than the album version)” (see full list of songs below). This EP will also be available on iTunes in the following week.
For Singapore fans, if you are able to get the remixes on US iTunes – good for you. For the rest of us, I think Nokia Music Store and Sony Ericsson PlayNow™ will most probably be selling the tracks to the local fans. So be patient!
Check out the cover above!
List of Remixes
- If I Had You (Radio Edit)
- If I Had You (Jason Nevins Extended Mix)
- If I Had You (Robotronic Extended Mix)
- If I Had You (Dangerous Muse Remix)
- If I Had You (Morgan Page Extended Remix)
